Accessing reports in Google Sheets

An easily accessible and freely available option is Google Sheets, found in the resource pack enabled when creating a Gmail account.

  1. To access your spreadsheet, click on the Google app icon

  2. Select the Sheets option

  3. In the folder icon choose the option Uploads

  4. Browse your file

  5. Click Open

  6. As Google integrates all of its tools, more visual items like emojis will open more easily

Converting reports in Microsoft Excel

⚠️ This conversion can only be done through Excel for computers because the version for cell phones and tablets does not have this function.

  1. Open your file in Excel

  2. Select the first column

  3. In the header choose the menu Data

  4. Click on the Text to Columns tab and a window with 3 steps will appear:

  5. Keep Delimited selected on first page

  6. Change from Tab to Comma on second page

  7. Select the Text option on the third

  8. Click on Finish to preview the new formatting

My worksheet displayed symbols instead of letters

Depending on the formatting used in the online catalog, some data will not be recognized by Excel.

  1. To avoid these errors, open Excel

  2. Create a new blank workbook

  3. In the header click on Data

  4. On the Get External Data tab, select Get Text Data

  5. Choose your file

  6. Click Import

  7. A window with 3 steps will appear:

  8. Keep Delimited selected on the first page and make sure the selected file source is 65001 : Unicode (UTF-8)

  9. Change from Tab to Comma on second page

  10. Keep the General option on the third

  11. Click on Finish to preview the new formatting
